The Postgraduate Student Consortium (1000-4000 words) provides postgraduate students with an opportunity to discuss their study with other students and experienced researchers. Submissions (an extended abstract or full paper plus one-page curriculum vitae) are invited from current postgraduate students who would benefit from detailed workshop discussions of their research by a panel of established researchers.

The Postgraduate Student Consortium will be held within special time slots during the conference. Students should give a presentation providing an overview of their work and results to date. Student participants will have the chance to discuss their research in an informal session with peers and academics.

Aims

Provide a supportive setting for feedback on students' current research and guidance on future research directions. Offer each student comments and fresh perspectives on their work from faculty and students outside their own institution. Promote the development of a supportive community of scholars and a spirit of collaborative research. Contribute to the conference goals through interaction with other researchers and conference events. Network with colleagues of similar background or interests.

The Sasada Award is instituted in the memory of Prof. Tsuyoshi Sasada (1941-2005), former Professor of Osaka University, co-founder and Fellow of CAADRIA, a prolific researcher and teacher from whose lab over 200 students have graduated, and better known as "Tee" in the community.

The Sasada Award will be given to an individual whose sustained record of contributions demonstrates or promises significant impact on the field of computer aided design. In keeping with Tee's spirit, the award recipient will have contributed to the next generation of researchers and academics, to the wider profession and practice in computer aided design and research, and earned recognition in peer community.

The Award will be decided annually by a selection committee comprising
One member from the Osaka Lab (Atsuko Kaga),
One collaborator or colleague of Tee (Aleppo Yu-Tung Liu),
CAADRIA President (Andrew Li), and
One CAADRIA Fellow (Tom Kvan) who will chair the Sasada Award Committee.

The nominations should be submitted via email to CAADRIA by 30th November 2011. The submissions should include annotated CV with a covering statement as attachments via email. The Award Committee may solicit nominations at its discretion. The committee will make its selection during January 2011. The committee may choose to defer the Award in any year for unspecified reasons.

The Sasada Award will be announced and presented at the CAADRIA2012 conference. The Award supports the winner to undertake an academic visit at the Osaka Lab and covers some expenses for about one week(details are negotiable). The Award recipient will be expected to contribute to the academic and research activities at the Osaka Lab in the form of seminars and interaction with research students and staff.
